TechGirlz is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to reducing the gender gap in technology occupations.
The organization hosts free workshops called TechShopz and an annual entrepreneurial
summer camp aimed at giving middle-school girls hands-on experience with different
kinds of technology, including web technology. As a nonprofit, they have a need for
donations as well as needs for teaching, instructing, marketing, and coordinating
TechShopz. Supporting TechGirlz is a wonderfully worthwhile cause close to OmniUpdate's
heart, and we've volunteered to help!
During 2015, OmniUpdate will run our own TechShopz for middle-school girls right here in our local community. Plus, we are donating a portion of our 2015 OmniUpdate User Training Conference (OUTC) proceeds to TechGirlz. Gloria Bell from the TechGirlz Advisory Board made a brief presentation at OUTC this year, and we hope that some of our college and university friends were inspired to bring TechShopz to their campuses and communities as well.
