OmniUpdate Adds Thousands of Users to Its Higher Ed Community in 2016


Technology Firm Achieves Record Revenue and Increase in Customer Retention

Camarillo, CAJanuary 3, 2017—OmniUpdate, the leading web content management system (CMS) provider for higher education, announced today that 2016 was a remarkable year of growth. New customer acquisitions and sales of new modules to existing customers drove the highest revenue in the company's history. OmniUpdate added 12,000 licensed CMS users, a 20% increase from 2015, and had a 97% retention rate, a two percentage point increase from the year prior. OmniUpdate also added two new members to its executive leadership team in 2016, bringing on Owen Savage, Vice President of Strategy, and Tom Smart, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

 

In spring 2016, OmniUpdate released version 10.4 of its CMS, OU Campus™. This release added power and flexibility, plus 83 new features and enhancements, including mobile access to workflow, messaging, reports, and user management in the CMS. The company also released two new product enhancements based on customer input. In July, OmniUpdate launched OU Insights™, a module integrated into the CMS that reports on broken links and misspellings, as well as ADA accessibility and SEO problems. In September, the company launched Emergency Alerts, a website notification system that reduces the time and resources needed to quickly broadcast emergency announcements on college and university websites.

 

With features and capabilities that address the needs of the higher education community, OU Campus was once again voted a Top Product for 2016 by University Business readers. OmniUpdate also won two Silver Stevie® Awards for 2016 Customer Service Department of the Year in the categories of Computer Software and Public Services & Education.
