OmniUpdate Announces Version 8.6 of Its Web Content Management System

New Global Find and Replace Feature Makes Content Management Easier for Higher Education Website Administrators

Camarillo, California – August 3, 2009 - OmniUpdate, Inc., the leading web content management system (CMS) provider for higher education, announced today the availability of a new Global Find and Replace feature in OU Campus, the company’s flagship web CMS product. This new feature makes it easier for authorized administrators to quickly make changes across an entire website.

Global Find and Replace allows an administrator to use literal text or regular expression searches to locate, preview , and replace plain text, HTML, CSS, XML, and other underlying code across an entire site or selected directories.  The process runs exceptionally fast, making changes to as many as 5,000 files per second. With a single click, changes are made to files on the staging server, giving administrators the ability to preview and rollback before publishing changed files to the live server.  This functionality greatly simplifies and expedites the process for making site-wide updates.

This feature recently became a top priority based on feedback received during the company’s user conference in March 2009.  Lance Merker, President and CEO of OmniUpdate, stated, “OmniUpdate listened closely to requests from our customers and reprioritized items on our development list to swiftly make Global Find and Replace available.
