OmniUpdate Releases Version 8.3 of Its Web Content Management Software
Camarillo, Calif. - April 27, 2009 - OmniUpdate, Inc., the leading provider of web content management software (CMS) for higher education, released today the newest upgrade to its web CMS product, OU Campus. This upgrade includes the new Image Editor and MultiEdit features.
The Image Editor allows images on a client website to be resized, cropped, and rotated directly in OU Campus. Additionally, a new function allows users to upload and edit an image in one operation. This helps ensure large images are properly resized before they ever land on the client's web server. The ability to access the new Image Editor is set at the user level and is established by the CMS administrator.
MultiEdit allows form-controlled editing for XML and other structured content. Administrators can now create forms-based templates that present users with an easy-to-follow guide for adding content to a structured layout. Templates can include both style-free form fields and WYSIWYG content editing areas. Administrators can control which web pages utilize the MultiEdit functionality.
According to Lance Merker, President and CEO of OmniUpdate, "Our customers asked us to simplify the image editing process and create a new process that allows authorized users to edit content associated with XML data. We believe that the Image Editor and MultiEdit tools are consistent with their feature-set needs and moves OmniUpdate one step forward in our continuing effort to improve the user experience."
