Live Delivery Platform

The OmniUpdate Live Delivery Platform enables two-way conversation with your site visitors and helps foster a dynamic website experience by allowing visitors to take advantage of popular interactive applications.

Benefits of LDP

OU Campus customers have the option to install the server-side Live Delivery Platform (LDP) to enable a rich set of Web 2.0 applications and extend the dynamic interactive capabilities of the website. As a platform, LDP offers plug-in application architecture to grow with your needs over time.

With LDP, visitors have more access to the information they want, and you can more quickly and easily gather live data on how these site visitors interact with the various applications. LDP capabilities include out-of-the-box apps for user comments, content Tagging, favorites, watchers, polls, surveys, forums, image galleries, and more.

How LDP Works

LDP is accessed and managed through the secure OU Campus web CMS interface. Some applications are set up by the administrator on a site-wide basis while others are on a page basis. For instance, OU Campus developers can insert a poll on a specific web page to gather data or build the watchers application into the template structure for the entire site. LDP extends the capabilities of OU Campus by allowing it to take advantage of the benefits of both decoupled (push) and dynamic (pull) CMS functionality. The diagram below illustrates how the LDP adds to the existing push model.
