2014 OmniUpdate Gadget Challenge [Infographic]

gadget challenge logoIf you’re an OU Campus user, you know by now that the 2014 OmniUpdate Gadget Challenge is already underway! Even as you read this, OU Campus enthusiasts all over the country are busy brainstorming the best gadget ideas possible. That’s right, gadgets – those clever little tools you can use in OU Campus to create shortcuts and extend the functionality of the most popular content management system in higher education.

Our truly ambitious contestants are already building those gadgets for the chance to win an all-expense paid trip* to the 2015 OmniUpdate User Training Conference (OUTC15) in Newport Beach, California!

Don’t know how to code? Not to worry. The Gadget Challenge will also reward the top gadget idea. You heard me. In exchange for just one brilliant idea, you can win one free registration to OUTC15 (did I mention it’s in Newport Beach?). And, you don’t even need to be in OU Campus version 10. Simply check out our support site to see how gadgets work. By the time you make the transition, you just might find your awesome idea in working form.

Plus, any and all participants in the Gadget Challenge – anyone who so much as submits one single idea – will get a stylish, commemorative T-Shirt that’s been certified by Andrew Soderberg, Vice President of Customer Support, as “undeniably schnazzy.”

Hard to top that…

But, I’ll try anyway: if you’re an OU Campus user with access to the OmniUpdate User Voting System, you have the power to vote for your favorite gadget idea starting October 15th. (If you currently don’t have access, please contact support@omniupdate.com.)

The top five gadget ideas chosen by our user community will then be rigorously evaluated by the OmniUpdate Gadget Committee for creativity, feasibility, usefulness, and value. Your custom-built gadget entries will also be judged by creativity, usefulness, and value, along with quality of code. Winners will be awarded their trophies at the 2015 OmniUpdate User Training Conference!

In Newport Beach!!

So, what are you waiting for? Submit your idea or start building your gadget today!

*Gadget code winner will receive one free OUTC15 registration and reimbursement of up to $1,500 in travel expenses
