Marketing Lessons from the 2015 E-Expectations Survey

Each year, the E-Expectations Report provides incredibly valuable information for those in charge of collegiate marketing and recruitment. Let me tell you… the 2015 data does not disappoint. Over 3,000 high school juniors and seniors were surveyed about their desires and expectations when engaging with college campuses. You can now adapt your e-recruitment strategies to align with what’s important to prospective students. Let’s take a second to think about that. With the E-Expectations data, you can cater your messages directly to your audience. Now that’s powerful data!

There’s so much to take away from the report, including statistics about website usage, social media interaction, email trends, and interactive resources. For now, I’d like to highlight three interesting stats that can make a difference in your marketing tactics immediately:

  1. 2015 E-ExpectationsProspective students assume the information on your website is reliable. Over 97% of juniors and seniors agree that your website is the source for up-to-date content. It is crucial to put time and resources into your website to make sure the information is accurate and that your brand is represented well.

  2. In the ever-changing world of social media, it’s important to keep up to date with new trends. However, the data tells us where to focus our energies – at least right now. YouTube and Facebook are used extensively by prospective students. Additionally, they are ranked highest as the best avenues for learning more about a specific college or university. Don’t let your YouTube videos and Facebook messages lose their luster!

  3. Mobile is here to stay. Not only are 40% of students using a mobile device to view your website, they are expecting your forms and emails to be responsive as well. If you haven’t already, it’s time to go mobile-friendly.
