Multi-tasking and constant interruptions are inevitable when working in higher ed. That's why our OU Campus web content management system (CMS) users find the Notes Gadget so helpful.
Accessed from the Gadgets sidebar, the Notes Gadget allows you to add public or private notes to any file or asset in the CMS. Public notes, which can be viewed by other content editors, are a good way to communicate to colleagues about changes or concerns on a particular page. Private notes are "notes to self," helping you keep track of changes or extraneous information that pertains to the page, but that don't warrant publishing.
Additionally, you can filter notes based on a data range or edit and delete them as needed. If you delete a page, the notes are also deleted. However, if a CMS user is removed from the system, his or her notes will remain.
