#OUTC18: Which Workshops Should I Attend?

OUTC18 logoThere are plenty of opportunities to get hands-on experience with our web content management system, OU Campus, at the 2018 OmniUpdate User Training Conference (OUTC18). But with so many different workshops being offered by our product experts, it may seem overwhelming to choose which ones to attend. Don’t worry, we’ve set up tracks based on experience level to help guide you in choosing which workshops are right for you.

Also, don’t feel like you need to stick to one track. They’re just guidelines, so attend any workshops you want! Just note that pre-registration is required for all workshops.

Below is an overview of each track:

Administrator: Beginner | You’re either completely new to OU Campus (welcome!) or have end user and basic administrator skills.

You already know this stuff:

  • Basic browser and word processor skills
  • OU Campus knowledge from an end-user or basic administrator perspective

And you’re wanting to learn this stuff:

  • How to update content, edit and publish pages, and create new pages
  • Access and workflow

Administrator: Advanced | You’ve got pretty solid administrator skills, but want to understand more administrator capabilities.

You already know this stuff:

  • HTML and CSS (working knowledge)
  • OU Campus at an intermediate level

And you’re wanting to learn this stuff:

  • Tags and RSS
  • How to safely make complex global adjustments to your PCF or HTML pages

Developer: Beginner | You’re an experienced developer wanting to get into the nitty-gritty of XSL.

You already know this stuff:

  • HTML and CSS (strong working knowledge)
  • PCFs, TCFs, and TMPLs (working knowledge)

And you’re wanting to learn this stuff:

  • How to build XML and XSL templates
  • How to customize and create editable regions

Developer: Advanced | You’re an advanced developer who wants to get the most out of OU Campus.

Whichever track you follow, rest assured you’ll get the most out of your workshop experience and will be armed with knowledge to take back to your institution and train your team.
