Send to Facebook® and OU Social™ Features Dramatically Improve Content Management and Distribution
Camarillo, CA — May 9, 2011 — OmniUpdate, the leading web content management system (CMS) provider for higher
education, has released version 9.8 of its OU Campus™ CMS. This release includes two
new features, Send to Facebook and OU Social, which will help the company's customers
find new ways to communicate with students, parents, and potential students in a single
Send to Facebook is an addition to the OU Campus Social Media Publish capabilities, which currently include Send to Twitter. The Send to Facebook feature allows authorized users to automatically publish content to Facebook Pages. Users can create wall posts from within OU Campus in conjunction with the creation or update of web page content. These posts can occur on an immediate or scheduled basis. Administrators can configure multiple Facebook Pages and set publishing rights to specific individual users or groups.
OU Social is a Facebook app that gives institutions a powerful, yet simple solution for updating their Facebook Page. An administrator simply installs the OU Social app within their Facebook account, and then selects which OU Campus–managed content to associate with it. Information displayed on an institution's Facebook "welcome" page, commonly used as the default landing page within Facebook, is an example of the type of content managed by OU Social. Whenever associated content is updated in OU Campus, the same content is automatically and simultaneously updated on Facebook.
Lance Merker, President and CEO of OmniUpdate, is excited about the enhanced social media capabilities being introduced by his developers and stated, "The new Send to Facebook and OU Social features expand how our customers can manage content and reach their audiences through multiple channels. And it's done by simply updating related content in the CMS, making OU Campus an even more effective communication asset."
