Integrated WebDAV Offers Additional Flexibility for Developers
Camarillo, CA – February 27, 2013 – OmniUpdate, the leading web content management system (CMS) provider for higher education, has released version 9.18 of its OU Campus™ CMS. This release of OU Campus includes integrated Web-Based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) for editing web content securely through third-party applications.
The latest release of OU Campus gives developers the freedom to access and modify content on the OU Campus staging server using their favorite WebDAV-compatible applications, including Adobe® Dreamweaver®, <oXygen/>® XML Editor, Cyberduck, Transmit, Coda 2, and many others. With WebDAV, developers work naturally with files while still adhering to the OU Campus permission system, file locking management, Dependency Manager, and other OU Campus features. Files are checked out when accessed through WebDAV applications, preventing users from making changes simultaneously, and the OU Campus permission system always ensures that the right people can access the right files.
OmniUpdate integrated WebDAV into OU Campus based on input from some of its most technical higher education customers. Lance Merker, President and CEO of OmniUpdate, stated, "We are very pleased with the WebDAV functionality in OU Campus and are confident that developers working with our CMS are going to love the freedom the functionality provides."
